Founder and CEO of Amartha
Andi Taufan Garuda Putra is Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Amartha, a P2P lending marketplace that modernizes microlending sector and provides alternative channel to capital for the unbanked population in Indonesia. Amartha empowers over 30,000 micro-entrepreneurs who need loan of around $250 for working capital.
Andi also received several awards including the Young Changemaker from Ashoka in 2010, Satu Indonesia Award from Astra in 2011, Laureate Global Fellow from the International Youth Foundation in 2013 and Ganesha Innovation Champion Awards from ITB Alumni in 2014. Taufan holds an MPA from Harvard Kennedy School where he was an Edward S. Mason Fellow and bachelor degree in business from Institut Teknologi Bandung.

UXiD: For you, what is the biggest challenge in providing services in fintech?
Andi: Educating borrowers from cash to cashless
UXiD: How do you think UX practices have benefited your product?
Andi: Research on our consumer behaviors help us understand the best approach and products designs to increase customers retention and stickiness. And understand the segments from early adopters to early majority.
