Walesa Danto is an agile practitioner with a passion to solve food chain problems using User Centered Design approach. While lecturing, he finished his thesis about Lean UX for hardware development, and worked as technical lead turned to product manager for streaming app. In the last 3 years, he has been running limakilo.id, a new supply chain alternative that connects farmers in several villages to hundred of traditional kiosks in Jakarta.

UXiD: What drew you to Agriculture industry?
Walesa: I’m interested specifically on the food supply chain.

UXiD: For you, what is the biggest challenge on providing services on agriculture?
Walesa: The infrastructure and the actor is not ready yet. It’s not about the internet connection but most people/actor that is related to the food chain is not thinking internet as a need (they think internet data subscription is expensive or tertiary) not like us that think internet as part of our life.

UXiD: How have UX practices been affecting the way you work?
Walesa: I prefer the combination of UX and agile practices, mostly I work on prototype and doing small validation (5 to 10 people) in several iterations.
